July 4, 2002
We had a big celebration today. Not only was it the Fourth of July, but it was also one year since I started chemotherapy. Alan and Lee had a barbecue and even gave me and Cheyenne some special bones to chew on. Boy, those were good. I feel much better now, and my life is almost back to normal. We run in the park and chase tennis balls everyday, and I can easily catch Cheyenne whenever I want to.
So far, the chemotherapy seems to be working. Dr. Fineman said my glands were back to normal size and that I looked so good we could cut back the treatments. Now, Dr. Klintworth gives me Vincristine in Atascadero every three weeks or so. It’s nice to see her smiling and happy again whenever she sees me. Alan stopped giving me the Leukeran after about 6 months because they were kind of expensive - $2 a pill. Yikes! But everything seems to be going okay without it.
Hey, I have to run. Cheyenne just stole my favorite tennis ball. Time to get her again.
